My feelings about the Election

The final numbers aren't exactly in yet, but it is pretty clear that President Obama will have for more years.  I have to say that both candidates had flaws, and truthful neither candidate could fulfill everyone's list of personal ideas that people have when selecting presidents.  This election, as those before it, divided many.  Household battles, Facebook news feeds flooded with commentary,  lies, deceptive practices, misquotes, and misleading was enough to make me vomit. I am happy the election is over and we are able to get back previously scheduled programing.   Don't get me wrong the election is important but I am so tired of politics where you have to tearing down your opponent to by smearing their name to build yourself up, annoying. This proposal, that proposal, who to choose?  The amount of stress at the polls was staggering.  I won't say which way my vote went and I don't know how the next four years will turn out, but I will say that we all need to forgive, forget and move forward. Choose to disagree on the issues and keep it moving.  Go hug the family member that you disowned because of their candidate choice, go rekindle your life long friendship with you best friend of a different party, we are all Americans who excersised our right to vote and choose.

On Trayvon Martin: A Bullet Sees No Color

I have sat here for the past week watching as the Trayvon Martins' case has sparked fire across the globe.  We will never know what all transpired the moments before his death, simply because an unjust legal system decided that a self defense plea was sufficient enough to satisfy the death of a mothers' son.  What I do know, is that it is more than black and white, it is the difference between right and wrong.  A bullet sees no color, it just bleeds.

Pastor Terry Jones protest by burning Koran in Dearborn, Michigan Today

Photo from PatDollard.com
Pastor Terry Jones has gained a lot of attention over the past few months, first when he planned on burning the Koran on the anniversary of 9-11 last September, now yet again planning on burning the Koran in Dearborn today.  I am all for freedom of speech, but when it can potentially bring harm to others, and cause more division, I feel that this is neither American or displaying the love of Christ.

This is a hot button issue, I have seen and heard it everywhere today including a dialogue on one of my friends facebook pages. Below is a copy of the dialogue and the names and faces are blurred in consideration of others.

There were multiple responses to this status post, some comical, many religious, and much more.

The conversation stopped there and as you see I had to put my two cents in. This has a direct effect on me, being that I have several family member in the area, live near the capital, and am  a Christian myself.  Personally I believe that he is misguided, therefore I am praying for Him. In this time where, Christians are suppose to be focusing on what Christ did, our image, yet again is being marred by a Christian radical who is not having any consideration for others.

To my muslim friends out there, we may not share the same faith, but I love you all. Christianity teaches that love conquers all things.  His actions do not reflect my feelings as a Christian towards my muslim brothers and sisters.

Praying for Compassion, Peace, and Love,

Glenn Beck's Detroit bashing, Someone doesn't see the POSITIVI-D in Detroit

Okay so a couple times a week my hubby sends me interesting internet links that he finds from local news stations in Detroit.  Some are humorous, many informative, sometimes after watching the video I am just down right mad.  Today's video was a commentary done by Glenn Beck on the city of Detroit, that is the currently the talk of the town. This commentary attempted to rip apart  Detroit. I know that this is just his bias  opinion, but the Mad Black Woman in me wants to say, "Sit down and shut up."

In his commentary he compares Detroit to a post-atomic bomb Hiroshima. WDIV's News Anchor Paula Tutman put it best "...just another national figure who has a platform to bash Detroit..."  Oh and he uses that plateform so well, to misinform American's about Detroit. Over and over he talks about Detroit's dependence on the auto industry and Democrats being the problem. Tell me Glenn Beck is the solution to put uninformed knuckleheads like you in office.  Detroit was not alone in depending on the auto industry, we are an industrial nation, America and the auto industry are one.  The auto industry not only funded Metropolitan Detroit, it created jobs all cross America.

In my opinion Glenn Beck is everything that is wrong in society, rather than being a solution, he creates more problems.  I have not had the opportunity to listen to any other ranting from Glenn Beck's Fox broadcast, and I probably won't in the future, but momma always said, "If you ain't got nothing good to say, then don't say nothin' at all."

Here's the BASHING, what do you think?
